Welcome

At Rendezvous, you start the day with a scrumptious meal that rivals the best Palm Springs Breakfast. Gourmet coffees and a wide selection of teas will wake up those who need a jump start in the morning. After that warm up, you may want to cool down with a fruit smoothie, prepared fresh daily, which really hits the spot on a hot summer morning! Next up is one of our fantastic fruit dishes.

We prepare a different dish each morning of your stay and know you will love them. At the close of your healthy fruit comes the main course, which alternates between sweet and savory dishes. My personal favorite is the Sweet Monte Cristo Sandwich, but all the dishes are fantastic.

Recipes
Cooking is one of life's adventures - we try a new combination of foods, just as we might try skiing or skydiving. Here is a small collection of our families' adventures into cooking. They are the time-honored traditions that have developed over time, and are the taste treats of our families. Please share them with your favorite people, and if you have time, send us one of your special recipes to try on our families and friends. Enjoy!

Chile Egg Puff
This is one of those easy awesome dishes that everyone will love! Everyone loves the "kick start" it gives you to get going in the morning.

Refreshing Summer Oranges
This is a great breakfast fruit dish. Fresh strawberries and a few blackberries complete the picture! Refreshing? Mucho!

Poached Pears
We have to give credit to our friends Elaine and Chuck at the Deer Creek Inn in Nevada City for this idea.

Sweet Hot Monte Cristo
Ah, the sweet taste of success! This recipe won First Prize in a National Bed & Breakfast Cook-Off.

The Rendezvous breakfast is so good because it's the perfect blend of healthy & delicious!

When I met Marty, I was kind of a health nut, running marathons, and eating no meat or junk food. Marty, on the other hand, had owned his own restaurant and bar, exercised by cruising in his boat on the lake drinking his gin, having a grand ole time. As I was pushing my homemade soups and salads, Marty would tell me that "when the big one comes, I have to be ready to eat whatever food is available." That was why he ate Hostess Twinkies; they might be the only thing left on earth. He had many other explanations for the way he ate. He would work non-stop, totally forgetting about food until his stomach was rumbling from hunger, and then run to the cupboard to pull out whatever was there - usually Campbell's soup - and ...I swear this is the truth - he'd eat it cold out of the can. You have to realize that when I met Marty he weighed in at about 130 pounds.

Marty was not a big fruit fan, but when it was time to order drinks at a restaurant, he would proudly order a gin and tonic -- with lime, and announce that "It's very important to have your fruit everyday". Marty has come a long way since then - it amazes me now that he can get quite insulted when I don't save him his granola parfait in the morning.
